Social Service Department in collaborate with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at King Abdulaziz Medical City– Riyadh, Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs lunched the "Infant Jaundice Awareness Campaign" under the slogan “Your Kid is Your Responsibility” that started on Thursday, the 19th of April 2016.
During the campaign, that lasted 3 days, a lecture highlighting infant jaundice , its symptoms and treatment was presented in addition to covering the role of the social worker, and the challenges he/she might face when trying to convince the parents about how important it is to keep your newborn baby in the hospital if he/she suffers from jaundice and following the doctor’s advice.
Moreover, the lecture covered the role of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) medical students in raising the community’s level of awareness about infant jaundice by presenting studies results.
During the campaign, many awareness corners have been prepared to spread awareness by volunteer groups and Social Service Department in the Ancillary Ambulatory Clinics (Outpatient Clinics), King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital (KASCH) and main hospital hallways.
