The Department of Medicine- King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa in collaboration with the Academic Affairs conducted the Annual Conference of Internal Medicine Diseases. Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, the Regional Executive Director of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs in the Eastern Region pointed out that this conference that attracts physicians from various disciplines is aiming to preform a comprehensive review of all diseases, methods of treatments and the latest updates was presented.
He added: “a review of the latest results of research and studies worldwide in the field of internal medicine. This conference provide a great chance for the participants to update their medical information especially that the presented scientific papers have covered all sections and diseases related to internal medicine. These papers are subject to follow-up by a scientific committee to ensure the high quality of the presented materials.”
He also said: “ The conference outputs reflects positively on the services presented to the patients. It is also considered a chance for the trainees to gain the require experience. Moreover, this conference covers several diseases, some of which are: heart diseases, Respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, blood diseases, infectious diseases, endocrine, diabetes and tumors.”
Dr. Al Arfaj has explained that the conference has lasted for two days and included more than 20 lectures and 6 workshops. This conference was accredited with 16 CME Hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS). Dr. Al Arfaj has pointed out: “The importance of this conference lies in providing the internal medicine staff with the latest updates. Some of the papers presented in the conference are about: Preventing Diabetes in the second level, Pre-Cancer screening, the latest in osteoporosis treatment, the latest in antibiotics.”
It is worth mentioning that more than 200 physician has participated in this conference.
