It has been since July 2007 when Israel occupied Gaza's Strip, isolating Gaza from any contact with the outside world, depriving it from all life's necessities such as water, electricity, sewage networks, and telecommunications.
In the night's darkness the only music Palestinians hear is the sound of aircrafts bombs and explosions when the Israeli bombardment started on December 27th 2008. These noises have become part of the everyday life to Gaza's people. Palestinians adjusted themselves to live under these forced circumstances and looked at the cup half full with the available resources. Khaled Abu Jubarah is one of those people.

"Start the fire to make some tea." Khaled's mother said to her family who were gathered in the house to have dinner. This was Abu Jubarah's family, from Bureij near Deir el-Balah getting ready to have dinner. They did not know what was waiting for them on the tenth day of the Israeli invasion, Tuesday evening when an Israeli missile blew down the house causing the death of the father and three of his sons while leaving a wounded son suffering from severe injuries.

Mohammed Abu Jubarah (23 years old) was trying to rush out of the house when he heard his mother asking about the bodies lying down on the floor whom he found out to be his father and three of his siblings. Overwhelmed with despair he saw one body gasping hardly for breath. That was his brother Khaled (19 years old) who was injured badly from the explosion.

Mohammed took his brother Khaled to the hospital where they found out that his liver was severely damaged and there were wounds on his right arm. Khaled's case was acute and needed urgent medical attention which was not available at Gaza's Strip. He was transferred to Rafah Border Crossing and then to Arish airport where there was a Saudi medical evacuation aircraft waiting to transfer Gaza's wounded patients to Riyadh at Saudi Arabia.

Khaled and his brother Mohemmed went to King Abdulaziz Medical City at National Guard Health Affairs where Khaled underwent surgery to repair the damage in his liver and other organs in the abdomen. He was then transferred to the Liver Stepdown ward to be under observation.
Khaled does not know yet about his father and brothers death. His brother Mohammed kept this news to himself as he wanted Khaled to heal first before he knows the sad news.

Mohammed expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for his help and support in providing the medical care to Gaza's people and to King Abdulaziz Medical City for their efforts in providing the best healthcare available to their patients.
