
Based on the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah the Jordanian Conjoined Twins, Mohammed and Amjed accompanied by their parents, arrived on Friday 23 April 2010, for their separation to take place at King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard Health Affairs, by the Multidisciplinary Team headed by HE Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah.
Upon their arrival at the King Khalid International Airport the twins were transferred to King Abdulaziz Medical City (NGHA) and met by HE Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Minister of Health and Head of the Multidisciplinary Team and by HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer of NGHA, along with representatives of the Multidisciplinary Team and representatives from the Jordanian Embassy.
The necessary medical examinations are currently being carried out and once completed the
Multidisciplinary Team will decide if they will proceed with the separation. The twins are joined
at the chest and abdomen and share a liver and bowel.
HE Dr. Abdullah Rabeeah and HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy both appreciate the generous gesture
of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who through
his humanitarian actions and compassion has changed so many lives.
