Under the patronage of H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) organized the "Future Strategic Planning” Workshop that was held in Dr. Sameer Bin Huraib Auditorium in King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh. On this occasion,  Dr. Al Knawy delivered a speech in which he pointed out that MNG-HA  is moving towards a foundational phase in regards to research infrastructure, after  the completion of fully equipped, State-Of-The-Art research centers in Riyadh, Al-Ahsa, and Jeddah,  while pursuing a highly qualified cadre to create a research environment that stimulates creativity and innovation.

After that, the Executive Director of King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, Dr. Ahmed Al Askar, explained that research products upon which the personnel are working in KAIMRC will not be for the sake of scientific publishing or counting the number of published research papers, but it will exceed to creating research products that are scalable, ready for marketing and the market, to raise the gross domestic product and achieve the 2030 Saudi vision in the recruitment of knowledge economy to serve the community.

He added that KAIMRC focuses his research on the laboratory phase of the scientific research, and through that vision, MNG-HA has received the Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation, through its research centers, which covers a 50,000 m2 space in Riyadh, Al-Ahsa and Jeddah.

Furthermore,  in 2015, KAIMRC has conducted more than 66 clinical studies, published 382 scientific papers in medical journals, and have been used 14,066 times around the world in various research studies. In addition to receiving around 100 patents the Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer.

Last but not least, Dr. Ahmed Al Askar concluded his speech by pointing out that what distinguishes KAIMRC is the research process that focuses on the economic impact on individuals and the community, by identifying common diseases such as cancer (breast cancer, leukemia, lymphoma,  colorectal cancer) diabetes, heart disease, infectious diseases (MERS-CoV).

Additionally, KAIMRC  announced the adoption of the Future Biotechnology Oasis project then the open discussion was commenced between the audience and both Dr. Bandar Al Knawy and Dr. Ahmed Al Askar.
