The Trauma Education Program under the Deanship of Postgraduate Education, Western Region in collaboration with the College of Medicine, Clinical Affairs at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs has successfully conducted the first Basic Elements of Surgical Techniques (BEST) course for medical students, which was hosted at the deanship building on May 18th, 2016 at the surgical skills lab.
A total of 23 medical students joined the course and were successfully trained for the basic surgical skills including knots tying and suturing techniques.
Dr. Mansour Al-Qurashi, Associate Dean, Deanship of Postgraduate Education and Dr. Hussein Al-Qahtani, Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs, College of Medicine, Jeddah provided all the needed support to fully facilitate the provision of this course.
We have no doubt that such course is of great value in helping medical students to embark on their medical carrier with more confidence and enthusiasm and we are looking forward for such collaboration in the near future.
