
Under the patronage of the CEO of the National Guard Health Affairs and President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the activities of the Breast Cancer Symposium will be organized by the National Guard Health Affairs for the fourth year in a row in collaboration with the organizing committee of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. This symposium will be held in the Four Seasons Hotel –Riyadh on the 6th and 7th of January 2010. Participating in the symposium will be a number of local and international doctors.
The symposium will cover various topics such as the latest findings from the American Association for Cancer Research as well as those from cancer treatment and research centers in San Antonio Texas – USA achieved in December 2009.
Moreover, the symposium will shed light on the latest developments of chemical, immunological, hormonal, radiological and clinical cancer treatments to help facilitate the exchange of new information in improving patient care. These developments will support the manufacture unique treatment plans for each individual patient.
The symposium will focus on methods of cancer prevention, bone protection during hormonal therapy as well as best possible ways of using the nanotechnology in treating breast cancer. Moreover, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has accredited this symposium with 14 CME hours.
Furthermore, seventeen scientific papers will be presented from the Middle East and the best three papers will be awarded during the symposium where Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, will give the National Guard Health Affairs Award to the best scientific paper.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women and as such there are a lot of new studies, research, and developments. Medications are continuously updated during regular symposiums which discuss breast cancer. By continually progressing with research and knowledge it is hopeful that breast cancer can be reduced and lives of women protected.
