As a part of the digital transformation journey in the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs; Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital-MNGHA launches the third phase of BESTCare New Laboratory Information System (LIS) at the hospital facility and the primary healthcare centers in Al Madinah and Yanbu in addition to King Abdullah Dialysis Center in Al Madinah.
The launching ceremony of the new system was attended by the Executive Director of Operations Mr. Mansour Al Askar, Executive Director of Medical Services Dr. Turki Al Wasaidi, Executive Director of Information Services & Informatics, Dr. Raed AlHazme, Associate Executive Director of Corporate Enterprise Medical Systems Mr. Mousa Al Motairi, and Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services Dr. Amar Alhasani in addition to a number of related departments’ management personnel.
The New Laboratory Information System is a key component of the integrated Hospital Information System "BestCare", which enables healthcare providers to document and extract data from a single platform that covers all MNGH-HA facilities. The New LIS is one of the MNG-HA strategic projects that aim to improve the quality of health services and patient safety, in addition to increase operational efficiency. The system also contributes in transferring and localizing the digital knowledge, and reducing future costs when implemented in any new health facility.
And to ensure an easy transition and a successful operation, the hospital has established a command center that involves a technical support team and a hotline to monitor the system’s performance and provide technical support, whenever required by the end-users. The IT services will be provided around the clock for a week, starting at the Go-Live date. The command center includes members from ISID and specialized personnel from Riyadh and Madinah. The new LIS is a solution that is completely and independently operated and managed by the Ministry of National Guard-Health Affairs.
