In line with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strategy for digital health transformation, which contributes in providing high-quality health services to patients, the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs has sought to focus efforts on the implementing the new Laboratory Information System (LIS) to include all medical facilities and primary care centers in the organization.
The first phase of the project, which was developed within the MNG-HA’s Electronic Health Record System "BestCare" covered its launch and implementation in the Central Region in King Abdulaziz Medical City - Riyadh and all the Primary health Care Centers, total of 17 centers. King Abdulaziz Medical City - Jeddah and its primary health care centers were the second phase in which the new laboratory information system project was launched.
As for the third phase, it included all the facilities of Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Hospital and primary health care centers in both Madinah and Yanbu in addition to King Abdullah Dialysis Center in Al Madinah. Then King Abdulaziz Hospital in Al-Ahsa in the fourth phase to include all primary health care facilities and centers in the Eastern Province.
Today, the system was launched in Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal Hospital-Dammam, representing the last and final phase, announcing the complete implementation of this advanced digital project in line with the developments witnessed by all sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards achieving the Kindome’s vision.
The launching ceremony was attended by the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, Executive Director of Information Services and Informatics Division, Dr. Raed AlHazme, Associate Deputy Executive Regional Director of Medical Service Dr. Tariq Al-Omair, Associate Executive Regional Director of Operations Mr. Khalil Al-Musalam, Associate Executive Director of Corporate Enterprise Medical Systems Mr. Mousa Al Motairi, Deputy Director of Information Services in Dammam Mr. Mohammad Al-Omir, in addition to a number of related departments' management personnel.
In conjunction with the launch of the New Laboratory Information System (LIS) project, an integrated technical support team and a Hot-Line were established to provide technical support around the clock to all NGHA Health practitioners and system users.
Lastly, the LIS project comes as a part of the strategy pursued by the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs to provide optimal treatment and health care services in line with the latest developments and applications of patient safety, in a way that contributes in upholding the highest standards, thus contributing in promoting and raising the level of health care in the organization.
