Under the auspices of Dr. Mohamed Al Zahrani - Executive Director Medical Services- Western Region, National Guard Health Affairs, the 2nd International Lymphoma Conference was launched yesterday on the 6th of April 2019. The number of attendees reached more than 1000 and there were 8 speakers from different countries.
The ceremony started with a documentary film about the conference objectives and its workshops.
The President of the Conference and Chairman of the Saudi Group of Lymphatic Tumors, Dr. Mubarak Al Mansour, pointed out in his speech that this conference comes along with the growing number of tumors cases in general and tumors of the lymph nodes in particular. The Saudi Registry of Oncology In 2015 stated that the number of new cases registered exceeded 16 thousand cases and according to global statistics, the number of cases in Saudi Arabia in 2018 exceeded 24 thousand cases, where tumors of the lymph nodes represent more than 11% of cases. The importance of this conference is to raise awareness of lymphoma tumors and to complement the expertise in the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of tumors.
