Among its activities in social responsibility and under the patronage of Executive Director of Operations Dr. Mansour AlOthman, Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Al Madinah (PMBAH), represented by Utilities and Maintenance Management, celebrated the 2014 World Water Day on Sunday, 23rd of March, through setting up an educational venue located in the main lobby of the hospital targeting patients, visitors and employees.
During the event, some important statistics about water and its consumption rate were highlighted through visual presentation and speeches given by water engineers about the dangerous of excessive fresh water high consumption. Moreover, Eng. Hamzah Alhamzah, director of U&M at PMBAH pointed out some exciting and unexpected statics that showed the average cost of drinking water through bottled water which is about 5250 SAR per year for each individual whereas drinking tab water after filtering it using home filters cost less than 2 SAR pre year.
Eng. Alhamzah emphasized that water leakage through water pipes is considered critical to water wastage, since wasting a drop of water each second means losing 30000 gallon yearly. Eng. Alhamzah concluded his speech requiring all of us to be more economically smart when using what he described as the most precious blessing Allah gave us.
