Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Dr. Khalid Al-Angari officially launched the activities of the 4th Medical Career Day Tuesday February 23rd, 2010 at King Fahd Cultural Center. This event was organized by King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences with the participation of 12 international experts from prestigious universities and associations.
The ceremony was opened with a narration from Holy Quran, after which one of the medical students from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences gave a speech about this occasion.
Prof. Youssef Al Eissa, Vice President of Educational Affairs and the Dean of the College of Medicine, KSAU-HS followed with a speech where he pointed out that the Medical Career Day highlights the future of medical students to get a better insight when it comes to their career path and higher education plans. This will also enable them to transform information into action then contribute in humanitarian services.
After that, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences gave a speech in which he commended the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz in sponsoring the 4th Medical Career Day which confirms his interest in higher education in general and health education in particular. It also underlies his full profound realization in preparing and training future national medical and health professionals, and supporting health care in this country. Dr. Al Knawy also stressed that King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences will invest in building and developing national professionalism.
In conclusion, Dr. Al Knawy said that the nation is witnessing an unprecedented move in the field of higher education with the opening of many universities in all regions of the Kingdom and construction of modern buildings and curriculums in various disciplines, particularly the medical and health field as well as supporting graduate and scholarship programs.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy honored the Minister of Higher Education with a memorial gift. After that, he launched the exhibition associated with the event.
King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences aims for this event to create a suitable environment to discuss future opportunities for those who study Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Furthermore, they hope this day to open new doors for those who seek employment and training in whatever field they choose.
