The 1st Ultrasound Boot Camp in the kingdom was concluded at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Western Region in collaboration with King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Jeddah, and accredited by the Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Ghada Bakhaidar, an Emergency Medicine and Ultrasound Consultant, Head of Quality Section in the Emergency Medicine Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City - Jeddah and Head of the first boot camp of Ultrasound, indicated that the 4-days ultrasound training boot camp was accredited with 66 CME Hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
She explained that this boot camp is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where using the ultrasound in different specialties is considered a new technique.
The camp also hosted a group of national and international elite experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants.
Moreover, The camp was attended by a large group of interested doctors in Ultrasound and its multi-uses in treating patient
On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rabghi, Head of Emergency Department in King Abdulaziz Medical City - Jeddah said that the ultrasound, nowadays, has become one of the modern technologies used in Emergency, Anesthesia and Intensive Care departments.
Finally, Dr. Al-Rabghi also pointed out that holding such courses and boot camps allow the medical staff to perform their job at the highest levels of standards with minimum complications.
