His Royal Highness Deputy Commander National Guard for Executive Affairs Prince Mitib bin Abdullah will launch the 1st International Emergency Medical Services Conference - Disaster and Mass Gathering. The event was organized by the National Guard Health Affairs represented by King Abdul Aziz Medical City – Jeddah. The conference will be held on, November 4th, 2009 in the Westin Hotel – Jeddah. This has been announced by Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. Dr. Bandar Al Knawy explained that this important medical gathering will be attended by an elite group of national and international specialists and experts in the field of emergency medicine to discuss the many topics that have been selected with extreme precision.
The topics will relate to emergency medicine and management of disasters and large assemblies, especially during the Hajj season. His Excellency pointed out that the objectives of this conference will cover the definition of emergency medical services and its new concept and the possibility of adopting and developing specialists in emergency services.
Furthermore, identifying mass gathering criteria medicine in the world such as the Hajj season, the challenges and the solutions proposed are a focal point of the conference.
In addition, His Excellency pointed out that there are several workshops on emergency medical services and their role during disasters and evacuation. He also pointed out His Royal Highness Lieutenant–General Prince Meteb bin Abdullah’s patronage to this conference reflects the vital role of ambulatory services that require more research, studies and exchange of expertise.
