NGHA has celebrated the graduation of 121 male and female physicians in various medical specialties in the festive 16th Residents Day, which was inaugurated by His Excellency – Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, NGHA’s Chief Executive Officer and the President of King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) at KSAU-HS Convention Center.

The Residents Day is considered a highly important event at NGHA, where the program annually graduates a batch of male and female residents after completing their training programs to work in their field of specialty to serve the community in all parts of the Kingdom as well as welcoming the newly enrolled physicians in all training programs. 

The opening ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, then Dr. Hanan Al Qahtani, Head of the Organizing Committee gave a speech in which she welcomed on behalf of the Organizing Committee the attendees, appreciating all the efforts made to develop the NGHA’s Medical Training Program, wishing these efforts to succeed in forming an effective environment for the physicians and making their experience in the program useful and enriching.

After that, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Khalidi, Director of Medical Education at the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Academic Affairs – KSAU-HS gave a speech in which he expressed his thanks to all those who contributed in the success of this program stressing the importance of the medical training phase in the professional life of resident physicians, the large role played by the hospital and the burden of this important stage on their lives.

Furthermore, he pointed out the great support for the Deanship of Graduate Studies, which is evident by the significantly increasing number of residents towards continuous education, as well as in the preparation of programs, of which there are currently 24 programs with 447 trainees in addition to the 42 sub-specialty fellowship programs.

Finally, His Excellency – Dr. Bandar Al Knawy gave a speech in which he addressed the male and female residents to continue their interest in developing both their scientific and clinical skills as well as their professional integrity when providing patient care and show their commitment to the standards of health practices so that they can provide quality health care services.
