The Department of Safety in King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah organized a course for two weeks on the basics and principles of safety for the Security and Safety Division staff and the units associated with the military apparatus in the Western Region.
The theoretical and practical program covered 15 main topics:
Introduction to safety.
The scope of the divisions, departments and safety committees.
The scope of work of inspectors, specialists and safety management.
Safety systems and standards.
Signs, signals and safety alerts.
Electrical safety.
Structural safety and work permits and maintenance.
Hierarchy of risk control.
Fire prevention and protection.
Risk assessment.
Personal protection and safety tools.
Management, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials.
Mechanism and effectiveness of the continuous training program.
Emergency and disasters preparedness.
Occupational safety.
Colonel Al Zahrani, Head of Safety Department at King Abdul Aziz City, Jeddah, said that the course aims at establishing the safety principles for the trainees as a performance reference on their new tasks, and developing their aptitudes to detect and assess risks and accidents before they occur to eliminate the danger or at least minimize the impact in their workplace and the surrounding environment. Additionally, Colonel Adel pointed out that the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs in the Western Region represented by the Safety Department has been keen on providing the best and relevant materials in this field through advanced educational resources.

Last but not least, Colonel Al-Zahrani also pointed out that this program will be the kick-off point for many future courses due to the importance of cooperation between the staff and the departments of the Ministry of National Guard.
