
Princess Adela bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy President of the National Family Safety Program, and Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the CEO of National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the General Supervisor of the National Family Safety Program, signed an agreement with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS). With this agreement the parties seek to exchange experiences, studies and scientific research, as well as to proceeding with executing many programs, activities and joint training courses, effectively contributing to the judicial and security sectors that deals with domestic violence cases.
Princess Adela pointed out that the program currently plans to conduct a number of advanced and specialized courses for the judicial and security sectors in collaboration with NAUSS.
This training course aims to build a human rights culture for the participants and to provide them with the professional skills needed to deal with child abuse or negligence and domestic violence.
The National Family Safety Program has held a number of general workshops the past two years for all professionals who deal with cases of child abuse or negligence. More than 400 professionals from various disciplines have received the needed training.
Dr. Al Knawy said that this agreement will provide the foundation from which many courses and workshops will be conducted to contribute in providing family and community safety. On the other hand, Dr. Maha al Muneef, Executive Director of the National Family Safety Program, said that these workshops are directed at security officers, judges, investigators, prosecutors, lawyers, forensic investigators, Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution members, researchers and other security and judiciary sector representatives in social security committees.
