The National Guard Health Affairs was awarded first place as International Training Center (ITC) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA), in recognition of the efforts of the Postgraduate Training Center at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS).
A delegation headed by the General Director of the American Heart Association’s international centers Mr. Michael Haley visited the National Guard Health Affairs to meet with Chief Executive Officer of the National Guard Health Affairs and the President of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences Dr. Bandar Al Knawy and present him with the prestigious plaque.
The visit comes in the wake of the NGHA winning most of the awards presented at the American Heart Association annual conference which was held in Dubai in April 2012, where the National Guard Health Affairs won four awards including first place in achieving an unprecedented number of trainees for one year in courses accredited by the American Heart Association, the number was 5231 trainee. Also, the KSAU-HS Postgraduate Training Center won the American Heart Association privilege to be a reference for other centers in North Africa and the Middle East not to mention receiving awards for instructing the most training courses in a year and monitoring tasks provided by the American Heart Association.
During their visit, the delegation also met a number of officials in the National Guard Health Affairs and the of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences to discuss ways to preserve joint and continuous cooperation between the two parties.
