His Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah, Minister of State, member of the Council of Ministers and Commander of the National Guard announced the the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to issue an award for excellence in the National Guard which would apply to all its staff; civilian, military, and medical. The award will be named (King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz National Guard Excellence Award) as was announced during a press conference held by His Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah at his office at the National Guard yesterday.
HRH Prince Mitib pointed out that the award is the first of its kind to be launched by a government body in order to give equal opportunity for performance advancement to its employees, both military and civilians.
The purpose of this award is to encourage all National Guard employees to give their best and to create a positive environment for honest competition among all employees in service of their religion, country and their community, as well as enhancing the level of quality in job performance, training, education and scientific research through the support of all aspiring potentials.
Furthermore, Prince Mitib bin Abdullah said that the award will include retirees, "The National Guard does not abandon his retirees." He also pointed out that the award will not distinguish between an officer and an individual, and stressed that the mechanism of this award will be neutral.
