NGHA’s King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa will organize the 1st Neonatal & Pediatric Nutrition Symposium. Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj, Regional Executive Director of Health Affairs, Ministry of National Guard - Eastern Region, pointed out that “the symposium will discuss the latest updates in the field of Neonatal & Pediatric Nutrition”, adding “through these activities and programs we seek to raise the level of the provided medical services and elevate the standards to be of the highest levels of quality”.
On this note, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Hisham Al Qarm said:” this symposium has a non-typical approach as it will start in an innovative educational method through taking the participants on an educational informative trip about the importance of nutrition for Neonatal and Pediatrics during the first days of pregnancy until the completion of the childhood phase.
Adding: “the symposium will include 10 lectures and two workshops and will discuss several topics such as Baby Friendly Hospitals, the importance of Breastfeeding, when to stop Breastfeeding and special Nutrition plans for Premature Neonates”.
Moreover, the two workshops that will be held will cover ways of expressing and storing Breast milk and how to conduct a nutritional assessment for Children .
It should be noted that this activity was accredited with 8 CME Hours from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS).
