Two years after launching the National Guard Health Affairs dual language Portal the
NGHA portal recently received a HONcode re-accreditation by (HON), an honor that recognizes the high-quality medical and health information provided on its website as HONcode needs to be re-accredited on a yearly basis.
The purpose of such re-accreditation is: 1 to further provide proof of quality and reliability. 2. To provide distinction of HONcode certification for websites that have been accredited for more than a year. 3. To improve visibility of the HONcode certificate and HONcode accreditation. In other words, the NGHA portal is one of the growing number of medical information providers that continuously strives to provide the most reliable and trustworthy medical information for its users.
The National Guard Health Affairs portal has also participated in the Health On the Net Foundation Survey on Internet use on health and medical topics which is currently participating in a European Union project KHRESMOI which aims to develop a search engine for health and medical information search to meet the needs of general population, MDs and radiologists.
Furthermore, the HONcode is the oldest; most often used, and most widely accepted reference for online health and medical publishers. This assurance has landed the HONcode a stellar reputation, a reputation that has enabled them to certify more than 6,800 websites in 118 countries. The organization’s pioneering work enables everyone, clinical and non-clinical communities alike, to rest assured knowing they have access to the quality information they are after.
The NGHA portal joins other reputable healthcare institutions like the National Library of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic in the USA, Geisinger, and Lehigh Valley Health Network—all of which are HONcode accredited.
