
National Guard Health Affairs represented by the Social Services Department organized an awareness day for women's health on Sunday, 16th of December 2012 at Dr. Samir Hareeb Hall.
The opening ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran and then a speech given by Ms. Samiha Haydar- the director of the Social Services Department - National Guard Health Affairs. Later on, organizers and participants were honored.
The program began with a lecture given by Dr. Fatnah Al Tahan entitled (Periodic Mammograms To Prevent Breast Cancer ), followed by another lecture presented by Dr. Mayson Adham entitled (Menopause - Symptoms) and last but not least, a the last lecture entitled (women: Dermatology and Laser) was given by Dr. Lulwa Al Mubarak. Finally, the program was concluded with an open session and a number of recommendations were submitted by the audience.
The aim of this Awareness Day is to encourage women to live and adapt to healthy lifestyles through proper nutrition, fitness and mental health, as well as reducing depression levels by building good social skills so women can deal effectively with life obstacles in addition to other issues that concern women and their health in general.
