
In the presence of the Executive Director of Operation Services- Western region: Mr. Ahmed Al-Balawi, Director of Nursing Education Department: Dr. Elham Ali Bukhari and Health Affairs Officials in Western Region, Nursing Education Department has organized the second Nursing Education Recognition Day at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah on Thursday 27 February 2020. The day included an introductory presentation that covered all the programs, courses and workshops provided by nursing education in collaboration with other supportive departments which contributed to the development of the services and improving patient care, ensuring that the care provided is in line with the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs.
During the presentation, Dr. Elham Bukhari, Director of the Nursing Education Department, mentioned the initiatives and activities achieved by the nursing education team in 2019, including:
Facilitating, supervising and implementing the internship program for female nursing interns of the Bachelor of Nursing Science of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, through which 80 Saudi nurses successfully graduated this year and passed the Saudi Nursing License Exam of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties by 99%.
Conducted 121 Specific clinical Nursing Educational and Training Programs and workshops with accredited CME hours from SCFHS.
Coordinated and executed 167 cardiopulmonary resuscitation courses for MNGHA-WR nurses with certificates accredited by the American Heart Association.
Completed successfully 15 "Cross Training Programs" that aiming to enable the nurses scientifically and practically to be qualified and competent to provide the necessary nursing care to patients in fields different to the scope of their daily practice.
Facilitated the implementation of Nursing Saudi Career Development Programs (NSCDP) in collaboration with the hospital Training and Development Department through which 25 female trainees were trained and successfully graduated.
Participated in coordinating and organizing the integration project of the best care system with the B-Braun Machines and training all hospital nurses.
Following of that, the Acting Associate Executive Director of Nursing Services: Mrs. Hadia Tabash, spoke on the extent of the cooperation between the nursing services and nursing education, which lead to enhance the levels of nursing care and ensure the quality of the service provided to the patient and the continuity of education and training considering updating knowledge and practice in the field of nursing.
After which, the Executive Director of Operation in the Western Region; Mr. Ahmed Al-Buluwi spoke during the forum in which he praised the permanent cooperation of nursing education with all departments and the department participation in the development and keenness that nursing education be kept abreast of all that is new. Mr. Ahmed Al-Balawi honored the distinguished and educational activities.
The second nursing education recognition day included an exhibition under the slogan "We enlighten your way" showing all the fields and services provided by the Department of Nursing Education, including several pillars, such as continuous education and training, competency assessment and professional development, the program of internship and nursing students clinical assignment, Nursing scientific research and scholarship.
