Pursuant to the developmental procedures taken by the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs to provide more distinctive medical services, and organized by Social Services Department, the Oncology and Hematology division was inaugurated at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital on October the 20th, 2015 under the auspices of Chief Executive Officer of Medical Affairs at the Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, Dr. Saad Al Mihrij, where many of the patients were smoothly transferred to King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital .
The Oncology and Hematology division allocated private Internal radiation therapy rooms fully equipped with the latest radiation therapy equipment such as modern CT simulators, in compliance with the MNG-HA’s mission to provide optimal patient healthcare at all levels.
Furthermore, and in line with Breast Cancer Awareness month, Social Services Department conducted several awareness events to fight against cancer in general and breast cancer in particular.
