Due to the life threatening condition upon arrival from the Gaza Strip on 6 April 2010, and to a single heart complex with numerous cardiac anomalies incompatible with life, the twins Rital and Ritaj were not separable and passed away on Saturday, 10 April 2010 simultaneously.
HE Dr. Abdullah Rabeeah, Minister of Health and Head of the Multidisciplinary team, and HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the parents of the twins and the brotherly Palestinian people.
HE Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah and HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy both expressed their appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah for his compassion and generosity for bringing the twins from the Gaza Strip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and for his unconditional support to treat cases of conjoined twins regardless of nationality, religion or culture.
