Described Palliative Care Medications Workshop
The department of palliative care in Prince Noura Oncology Center in king Abdulaziz Medical City organized the first course of describing palliative care medicines for doctors, the course is held every three months, about how to describe the painkillers especially for oncology patients, The lack of prescription of these medicines is noted for those doctors who either lack of experience or exaggerated fear of their dangers.
Dr. Nabil Mouaalamy, Section Head of Palliative Care Department, added that the course and workshop aim to provide the latest skills to doctors and health care providers in order to improve their prescription of painkillers and manage chronic pain, as well as to gain confidence in the application of the latest global guidelines.
One of the objectives of the course is to exchange experiences on the challenges facing doctors when describing these medicines and improving communication skills to ensure effective patient management and reduce medical risks.
