Continuing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia humanitarian role under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, an urgent separation surgery for an Egyptian parasitic twin will be performed today ,the 1st of March 2015 in King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. The baby boy was born in Riyadh with a parasitic conjoined twin that shows no signs of life.

The twins are  joined  at the lower abdomen where the parasitic twin has lower limbs, a portion of a pelvic, a kidney and some abdomen organs. However, the intestines of the complete twin are out of his abdomen due to a congenital abdomen wall opening.

A multidisciplinary medical and surgical team headed by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah conducted the necessary medical  tests have decided to conduct an urgent separation surgery to separate the parasitic twin and reconstruct the abdomen wall of the baby boy. The separation surgery is expected to last for 4 hours with the participation of specialists in anesthesiology, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, as well as the nursing and the technical staff.

On this occasion, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Deputy Crown Prince for their continuous support towards the health sector in the kingdom and to His Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard for his constant follow-up.
