His Royal Highness Prince Mitib bin Abdullah, Minister of State, member of the Council of Ministers and Commander of the National Guard will launch Patient Safety Forum hosted by National Guard Health Affairs and King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS) on 22 - 24 April 2012. The forum will last for 3 days with the participation of a number of international and local experts and specialists and will be held in Makarim Convention Centre - Marriott Hotel – Riyadh.
Participating in this forum are a number of distinctive local and international organizations and health sectors as well as some of the most prominent professionals in the field of patient safety from the United States of America, Canada, Australia and Europe, in addition to speakers from the Arab world and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and a selection of experts and specialists from within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The conference, through its scheduled sessions, will address important subjects including the global challenges in the field of patient safety, hospital-acquired infection, patient safety, patient safety in surgery, corporate culture and leadership, reliability and designing facilities, educatiing doctors on patient safety, and medication safety .
Furthermore, each session will cover several scientific lectures presented by a number of patient safety specialists and will discuss topics such as: patient safety, the role leadership in patient safety, health information technology in the field of patient safety, healthcare associated epidemiological monitoring (Ministry of Health plan), Infection Control Program (United Arab Emirates model), the establishment of a national program of surgery safety, the effect of transparency on health services, the concept of corporate justice, declaration of medical errors, patient safety in health colleges curriculum, Rapid Response Team: The experience of King Abdulaziz Medical City as well as many other important topics.
