​73 Experts Discuss the Latest Patient Safety Techniques and Expertise 
 

73 Experts will be discussing the latest patient safety techniques, expertise, and researches related to patient safety during the upcoming 8th Annual Patient Safety Forum, sponsored by His Highness Prince Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Mohamed bin Eyaf Almuqrin, Minister of National Guard,, and organized by the Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs during the period from  the 8th till the 12th of April 2018 at the Convention Center in King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.

Executive Director of Quality Management and Patient Safety and Chairman of the Scientific Committee Dr. Abdulmohsen Alsaawi, during the introductory meeting of the 8th Annual Patient Safety Forum on Sunday, that the scientific committee has received 212 research papers and projects related to the patients safety from both local and international experts, noting that 187 were selected for discussion and presentation.

In addition, Dr. Alsaawi stressed the importance of the forum in improving the health services provided to patients through the exchanging of expertise, ideas, and visions that will, in turn, enhance the quality of the services provided by the health sectors in the Kingdom. He also said the forum will cover several topics,

And the most important of which is the role of technology in improving patient safety, as well as controlling the risks related to medical tests and drugs prescription.

Moreover, the Forum will review the best international practices in improving the patient's safety, revealing that it will be preceded by a broad panel of experts and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands to discuss the latest developments in this field.

Last but not least,  Dr. Alsaawi highlighted the importance of improving the environment and culture of patient safety in the health sectors, stressing that this is one of the main goals of the national transformation in the field of health towards vision 2030.
