National Guard Health Affairs represented by the Ophthalmology Department – King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh in collaboration with the academic affairs of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), The National Prevention of Blindness Committee (NPBC) and the Middle East African Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO) will organize the first Pediatrics Ophthalmology and Optometry Symposium on the 17th – 19th of March 2013 at Makarim Hall- Riyadh Marriott Hotel.

Ophthalmology Department Head, the Director of Ambulatory Care Operations and the Conference Director  Dr. Tariq Al Debasi said that this conference is hosted directly under the support of HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs and the President, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. The conference will bring together international experts from the most prestigious American, Canadian and European universities as well as a wide range of national expertise and competencies.

Furthermore, The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) will accredit this conference with 20 CME Hours. The conference will include workshops spread over three days, four workshops accredited with additional 9 CME Hours. In addition, there will be an exhibit to showcase what is new in ophthalmology and optics with the participation of many leading companies in this field. Dr. Tariq Al Debasi added that the conference aims to strengthen and expand knowledge in the field of pediatric ophthalmology, diseases and Esotropia (crossed eyes), methods of eye examination for autistic patients, causes and ways of treating refractive errors and treatment of visual impairment treatment using visual aids.
