King Abdulaziz Hospital in Al Ahsa represented by Patient Relations Department organized the activities of International Day of Persons with Disabilities with participation of hospital’s departments. The Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs (MNG-HA) in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj said” We hold such events to appreciate a precious segment of society who have strong determination and willpower”.
He also added” We have celebrated this important international day through holding awareness exhibition to raise the community awareness of dealing with disabled people by ensuring their safety at homes, streets as well places of study and work under the theme of All of Us Are Able to Give".
In addition, many departments and sections participated in holding such activities like Patient Relations Department whose their booth presented disabled rights in terms of administrative laws that protect him/her in medical facilities, while Social Services Department presented best ways in dealing with disabled people in regard to psychological and social aspects.
Moreover, Safety Department explained the need to provide a safe environment for people with disabilities, and distributed brochures on the most important safety factors that must be available at homes under the title of "Is Your Home Safe From Hazards?". Last but not least, Physiotherapy Department explained the devices used to help and treat people with disabilities.
