A new accomplishment has been added to Health-affairs achievements. Whereas Pharmaceutical Care Department at King Abdulaziz Medical city, Jeddah has won the first place in National Hospital Pharmacies scientific competition, against all Health Facilities which has been held on the Annual Pharmacy Conference from 13 to 15 of February 2020. And this competition has been organized for over than 300 bed coverage hospitals; 20 hospitals from different health facilities in Saudi Arabia have participated, beside the Medical cities.
Competition Questions has Covered all domains of practicing hospital pharmacy including clinical pharmacy and Medication Safety.
Pharmaceutical Care services Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Jeddah, has been represented by: 1st Lt. Dr. Sultan Alotaibi and Dr. Amani Alobaithani.
Mr. Ahmed Al-Balawi, Executive Director Operation said that such distinction represents Health Affairs, and reflects high scientific level of Pharmaceutical Care Services Department’s Employees at King Abdulaziz Medical city in Jeddah, and this success assures safe pharmacy practice that touches patients directly.
Dr. Hani Al-Hamdan, Director of the Pharmaceutical Care Department stated that this success assure our classification as high reliability organization “HRO”, emphasizes the safe pharmacy practice that directly affects the patient and that the pharmacist’s role is important in medical care through his evaluation of the treatment plan and his active participation with members of the health team in addition to his primary role in providing drug information and drug education for Patient which contributes to providing high quality health services and reducing medication errors.
