Information Systems and Informatics Division (ISID) in collaboration with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine are pleased to announce the launching of LIS - Cerner Millennium at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Hospital (PMBAH) - Al Madinah Al Munawwarah.
The project aims to provide an advanced and modern information system which supports, facilitates and organizes all operations carried out within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This system is considered one of the best worldwide in the field of laboratory as it complies with the highest international standards for medical laboratories.
Furthermore, the system was implemented in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al- Ahsa in 2012. However, since the opining of PMBAH in 2013, the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine was utilizing KFH2, a system that had lots of limitations. The preparation of the implementation process of the new system was completed on Feb 2015,the project Kickoff was on April 16, 2015, then the project went live on May 31, 2015.
In addition, the system connects all Pathology and Laboratory Medicine departments in all MNGHA regions, which always strive to deliver the highest levels of health care services.
The project was completed in a brief period, as a result of a collaborative professional team effort that reflects the success of this project and the team spirit between the various departments within the MNGHA.
