Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital for Health Affairs, Ministry of National Guard, Madinah, represented by the Department of Nursing Education, on Friday evening, November 15, 2019, celebrated the International Diabetes Day, which was held in Al-Rashid Mega Mall, through an awareness exhibition held with the participation of a number of department of the hospital, such as the Rehabilitation Services , Family Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Dental Services, Nutrition and Pediatric Intensive Care, Outpatient and Pharmaceutical Care.
The event aims to educate the community about type I and type II diabetes and the symptoms and complications of diabetes as well as various treatment methods to control it, its main causes and various factors that lead to increased blood sugar.
The exhibition, which received a large number of visitors, included a number of booths, as recreational booth for children and educational booths to provide brochures and leaflets awareness and to answer all queries of visitors related to diabetes, they explained the relationship between diabetes and the role of proper nutrition in dealing with the disease. Health education about diabetes rehabilitation and exercise and advice appropriate for them, as well as explain the importance of early detection of diabetes in order to reduce the incidence of health complications of the patient, in addition to providing services to examine the risk factors related to heart disease and cheek S measurements of height, weight and blood sugar screening for visitors and make them aware of how to use diabetes measuring device at home, the exhibition presented a large variety of gifts to all visitors.
