Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Hospital in AlMadinah AlMunawarah represented by Social Services Department participated in "Try to live without them" awareness campaign, which was held on Thursday, June the 4th, 2015 at Al Rashid Mall over three days. The campaign which was organized by “To Our Nation We Live” voluntary team under the supervision of Taibah Women Society for Social Development in Al Madinah aims to raise awareness about the risk and the negative effects resulting from addiction of electronic communication devices. The campaign targeted all society members through trying to dispense all electronic communication devices for half an hour.
Ms. Khulood Al Sharief, Social Worker from Social Services Department, PMBAH explained that the social aspects of the negative effects of these devices includes isolation, the difficulty of social communication within the family and the difficulty of communicating face to face, stressing that the most affected ones are the children and teenagers.
Moreover, Ms. Neda Al Kharashi, Nursing Educator from Nursing Education Department, PMBAH provided medical information regarding the adverse health effects caused by these devices such as neck and back pain and eye problems.
