King Abdul Aziz Medical City in Jeddah, represented by the intensive Care Department for Neonatal organized the honoring ceremony for (The International Prematurity Day) They are the children who are underdeveloped as a result of early birth, It aims at honoring the deceptive children and their families who were previously cared in King Abdulaziz Medical City from the beginning of their birth to complete their development and discharge from hospital, as well as organizing a number of awareness programs and activities related to the care of prematurity children.
Dr. Jubara Alallah , Chairman of the organizing committee and consultant of neonatology , pointed out that in all parts of the world, 15 million children are born prematurely each year, meaning one in 10 children born prematurely all over the world, and prematurity children are more vulnerable to more health problems than children born on time, They may face long-term health problems affecting the brain, lungs, hearing or vision and Dr. Jubara has indicated that premature children need special hospital care with a specialized unit for premature children.
(The International prematurity Day) was accompanied by an awareness exhibition with the participation of several departments related to premature children.
