HE Dr. Mansour Al Janadi, Executive Director of Medical Services in National Guard Health Affairs - Western Region launched the National Guard Preventive Medicine and Public Health Conference organized by the Primary Health Care in NGHA on Tuesday 14th of February 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel – AL Sultan Hall- Jeddah.
The Community and Preventive Medicine in the NGHA offers a wide range of public health programs and services following a multiple discipline approach which includes the following: epidemiology, health in schools, maternal and child health, environmental and occupational health, dental health, biostatistics, geriatrics and mental health.
Preventive medicine is one of them main medical specialties that aim to anticipate diseases and prevent them before they occur. Moreover, it seeks to enhance the level of community health. In this regard, the health services sectors focus on setting up development plans through expanding health sciences universities and specialized colleges as well as providing scholarships for thousands of students to attend some of the most prestigious medical international universities and institutes in the world.
