His Royal Highness Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of National Guard have conducted an inspection visit to the Emergency Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City –Riyadh, following the development of a comprehensive plan was complete in all departments in order to reopen the hospital and run the outpatient and inpatients departments after fully controlling the MERS-CoV outbreak. Upon his royal highness arrival, he was received by Mr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Tuwaijri, National Guard’s Deputy Minister, H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, and a number of MNG-HA officials.
During his inspection tour, Prince Miteb visited the colds clinics in the Emergency Department, during which he was briefed about the clinic sections, its well-equipped laboratories to treat various respiratory diseases, in addition to the developmental expansion of the Emergency Department, which included the expansion of a screening unit, treatment and care units, acute critical rooms, advanced quarantine rooms and recovery units.
After that, Prince Miteb listened to a brief given by H.E. Chief Executive Officer of Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy about the stages of the overall quality plan for the development of the Emergency Department at King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh through the newly deployed (tracks) system to direct patients between the clinics and the waiting areas along with a special path designated only for respiratory diseases, which will contribute in organizing the patients as well as minimizing the patient’s waiting time.
At the end of His Royal Highness’s visit, Prince Miteb extended his appreciation to all the MNG-HA staff for their efforts; the ER staff in particular and other medical disciplines in general for the hard work put into this project, wishing them successes in all areas of service.
