
Three days after the successful separation of the Moroccan twins performed at King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh, Azizah and Saeedah are breathing normally after being removed from the artificial respirator. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Head of the Multidisciplinary Team stated that all vital signs are good and their organs are functioning normally. The twins are no longer on antibiotics, but continue to be under pain relief management for the time being.
They will remain in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for a few more weeks under close observation from the Medical Team before being transferred to Ward 7 to starttheir rehabilitation program.
The father removed the artificial respirators from the twins, and the twins appeared to be breathing normally. The twins are interacting with their parents and the medical team. The mother managed to carry Saeedah independent from her sister after she raised her hand to her mother.
The operation for the separation was carried out with great success over 7 phases and took 13 hours and 20 minutes. This is the 23rd separation to be carried out in the Kingdom of Humanity based on the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
