The College of Public Health and Health Informatics at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences will offer a seminar on reproductive health on Tuesday April 14th. Guest professor Staffan Bergstrom will be speaking on the topic "Reproductive health for all,what does it mean?" from 9-11 a.m. at Dr. Sameer bin Huraib Auditorium at the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh.
Professor Bergstrom is an active professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. His research interest has been on genital infections during pregnancy and their affect on pregnancy outcomes.
Professor Bergstrom's recent research involves medical work being carried out by "non doctors" in places such as Mozambique, Malawi and Tanzania. He has worked and written exclusively on various issues relating to the improvement of maternity care in developing countries around the world.
On April 15th, Professor Bergstrom will be giving a seminar on International Reproductive Health in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. It will be held at the King Saud Medical Complex, formally Shumesi, from 9-3 p.m. and it will be done in five sessions. Some of the topics that will be covered in the seminar are: “the major challenge of reproductive health”, “what are the priorities to enhance maternal and perinatal survival?”, “maternal mortality when Sweden was a developing country”, and some other related topics
