King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC) through its Research Promotion & Education Section successfully launched the Research Summer School 2014 on the 8th of June 2014 in the KSAU-HSConvention Center, with the participation of male and female students from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
Dr. Ahmed Al Askar, the Executive Director of KAIMRC, pointed out during the opening ceremony speech that this year’s activities include a set of medical research introductory courses aimed to instill the bioethics values of medical research in the students. The summer school also trains the participating students on sound and effective methods of conducting medical research.
He added that the center will also offer core courses in research writing, composing and implementing in addition to conducting information analysis using evidence-based scientific foundations and bioethics prior to publication.
Furthermore, through the establishment of the summer school, KAIMRC seeks to support the foundations of medical research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia so that medical students can achieve the maximum benefit from research early in their careers. This will enable them to offer the best health care services and acquire many personal and professional skills with respect to medical research concepts and bioethics.
