Imam Abdulrahman Al Faisal Hospital in Dammam-Ministry of National Guard - Health Affairs, has succeeded in applying Resources and Power Conservation Program by rationalizing water and electricity use, which has done by Utilities and Maintenance Department and the hospitals’ departments have participated in this achievement.
In addition, the hospital has adopted a special strategy compatible with the Kingdom’s 2030 strategy, where two of its provisions are "providing a healing environment," and "preservation of human and material resources and developing them to increase the operational efficiency and utilizing the existing capacities".
After holding a meeting with the execution team of this strategy, mechanisms have been developed which are based on identifying causes of power waste, finding solutions and applying them as well looking for the supporting programs provided by the Kingdom.
Also, the team has executed its mechanisms starting with electricity; identifying causes of power waste by selecting the working area and determining the causes. Thus, the solutions have been found and applied such as holding a workshop between the team members where they proposed a number of solutions and implemented many of them, as they save 20-30% of the power. The next phase of consumer education to save power will be under the slogan "I'm in Charge."
Moreover, the team looked for the supporting programs provided by the Kingdom, through holding a meeting with an engineer from the Electric Load Department and an engineer from the Saudi Electricity Company as they participated in power saving program which has been implemented in the temporary Administrative Building and in Region 4.
Also, the program provided 30 - 40% of the water after identifying the waste causes as well resulted in saving at least 100000 SR of spare parts budget.
Last but not least, Water Authority represented by the Government Bills Director praised this achievement, with presenting a number of solutions that are being implemented now, as more than 297 of the devices provided by the authority have been installed and 1579 devices will be installed in the hospital housing compounds soon.
