National Guard health Affairs has organized the NGHA's Rehabilitation Awareness Day activities on Tuesday 28th of January 2014 at Dr. Sameer bin Huraib Hall at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh.
A number of rehabilitation specialists and other health care providers pointed out the importance of this field and the role it plays in helping children and adult patients to achieve a state of independency that allows them to lead a normal life.
This awareness event included many lectures covering various areas of rehabilitation and physical therapy delivered by physiotherapists and occupational therapists, including the importance of physical activity, video games impact on children, rehabilitation for autism patients, burn victims, Heart-Healthy Lifestyle, sports injuries, women's health and other important topics.
Furthermore, this event showcased a medical exhibition that included several sections, such as rehabilitation, orthopedics and hand and wrist problems, cardiac health, burn unit, pediatrics, rehabilitation for neurological disorders and people with special needs, and orthotics and prosthetics as well as the participation of many sponsors companies.
The rehabilitation Services at King Abdulaziz Medical City - National Guard Health Affairs - Riyadh offers a range of rehabilitative services for patients of all ages in addition to inpatient services and referred outpatients, which are generally aimed to rehabilitating patients and help them to achieve a state of independency.
The Rehabilitation Services consist of three divisions: Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Orthotics/Prosthetics alongside a specialized team to offer rehabilitation services for each individual patient through intensive rehabilitation programs using modern technology.
