Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs, President, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and General Supervisor, Royal Clinics recently announced the appointment of Dr. Saad Abdulaziz Al Mohrij as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), National Guard Health Affairs.

In his capacity as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Al Mohrij will be responsible for providing the necessary support to the Chief Executive Officer in order to promote and streamline medical services within the organization, as well as raise the standards of the organization to reputable international levels.

Dr. Al Mohrij obtained his MBBS from King Saud University, Faculty of Medicine, Riyadh, KSA in January 1988.  He completed his residency training in Orthopedics in 1995 from King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh (formerly known as King Fahad Hospital) and obtained his Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship in 1998 from The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Canada. 

Prior to his appointment as CMO, Dr. Al Mohrij served as the Director of Operating Room Services from 2001 until 2005, while holding the Director post of Residency Training Program for Division of Orthopedics between 2003 and 2004, and in December 2004 was appointed as Deputy Executive Director, Medical Services, KAMC-Central Region.  Moreover, he has chaired a number of significant scientific and administrative committees for both KAMC-Riyadh and Kingdom-wide.
