The Safety Awareness Week, spearheaded by the Safety Management Department, will be held on the 20th - 23rd of May 2012 in the Central Region. It is a National Guard Health Affairs wide education and awareness-building campaign for improving safety at all levels of employees. This year's event theme is "Don't be safety blinded, Be safety minded".
During this week, King Abdulaziz Medical City - Riyadh and Primary Healthcare centers across the Central Region are encouraged to plan events to promote safety in collaboration with Regional Safety Management Departments. Educational activities are centered on educating employees and contractors on how to become involved and build safe partnerships with their relevant healthcare communities.
The Safety Awareness Week aims to demonstrate NGHA safety commitment, build a culture of safety, establish relationships between NGHA Safety Management structure and NGHA communities and share the latest knowledge, safety research or sustainable practice interventions. In this regard, the Safety Management Department focuses on aggregating relevant, recent content on safety programs, developments and studies so that this awareness week provides a platform to increase awareness of the critical issue of preventable illnesses and injuries.
