King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa , Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs represented by the Safety Department and with the participation of several departments, organized the "Safety Week" activities. The events were attended by a large number of patients, visitors and staff members. the Regional Executive Director of the Ministry of National Guard -Health Affairs in the Eastern Region, Dr. Ahmad Al Arfaj pointed out that: "these events attracted a large audience which made us realize even more the importance of such activities and events".
Dr. Al Arfaj added: "These events focused on the daily life safety measures, covering both home safety and work and targeting staff members and their families, patients and visitors, and the general society".
Furthermore, Dr. Al Arfaj e explained that King Abdulaziz Hospital - Al Ahsa holds such events each year due to its importance in addition to the direct impact on the participants, in order to correct a number of misconceptions, creating a state of awareness and perception on safety procedures and that it’s a life necessity that must be exercise in a serious matter”.
For his part, Safety Management Department Supervisor at King Abdulaziz Hospital, Jamal Eddin Chaar said: "the events were commenced by an exhibition with the participation of several departments and sections in the hospital, which included safety guidelines posters, brochures and pamphlets for promoting safety measures amongst the employees, the visitors and the patients".
"The exhibition included various sections covering various topics such as electric risks and fires, in addition to the risk of electrical wires and extensions, leaking gas, counterfeit electric devices and tools, in addition to the proper methods of detecting leaks, and also the risks that might affect the patient or the facility during renovation phases”.
Jamal Eddin Chaar also added that: " the exhibition corners covered the risks in the workplace, and the importance of allocating a safe working environment fit for the staff members, keeping in mind, the impact of radiation and the risks resulting from it in hospitals, as well as the risks related to magnetic resonance imaging devices".
Last but not least, the events also included a visit to staff and patients to involve them in safety-related contests.
