King Abdulaziz Hospital represented by the Safety Management Department organized the "Fifth Safety Week", in collaboration with several hospital departments, to attract patients and staff. Regional Executive Director of Ministry of National Guard- Health Affairs in the eastern region, Dr. Ahmed Al Arfaj pointed out that: "these events focused on safety in our daily lives, and targeted staff members and their families along with the patients, in order to correct any misconceptions and create a state of awareness and understanding regarding the safety procedures that are considered a must and should be practiced accurately and intensively".
Jamal Al Shaar, Supervisor of the Safety Department at King Abdulaziz Hospital, stated that "the event included an exhibition with the participation of several hospital departments and sections, and some safety guide boards, as well as presenting brochures to spread the safety culture among the visitors.
The exhibition included eight different sections covering; electricity safety and electrical fires, as well as, the risks of consuming candy-like drugs, specially for children".
Moreover, it included "corners, focusing on diseases and infection prevention, how the Coronavirus spread and ways to prevent it, along with the safety procedures regarding establishment renovations".
The event encouraged staff and patients to participate in safety-related competitions, to test their abilities to identify risks in the work environment. Al Shaar pointed that "the evening event included several activities, including: educational camp for children with five sections: electricity, chemicals at home, drugs, infection prevention, and the definition of material risk prevention".
