
The 2nd Saudi Arabian Conference on Residency Education (SACRE) conference which organized by the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and the National Guard Health Affairs in cooperation with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons in Canada and the Saudi Commission for health Specialties was launched yesterday 07 February 2012 at the Riyadh Marriott Hotel.
During the opening ceremony HE Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, the Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs, President, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and General Supervisor, Royal Clinics mentioned, that the Royal College had recently evaluated three programs: radiology, emergency and pediatrics, within the framework of mutual recognition under the umbrella of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to create opportunities for physicians to achieve certificates and fellowships degrees.
Dr. Knawy stressed on the importance of applying of the CanMEDS Physician Competency Framework an educational framework that lead to optimal health and health care outcomes, keeping up with the latest advances in medicine and training programs how to merge them in effective curricula to serve the medical and health field.
The SACRE Conference aims to develop the experience of resident doctors and acquire knowledge and experience in international modern medical training, in addition to improving the level of medical programs in the Kingdom, exchanging both scientific and academic experience in the field of medical education and keeping up with the challenges to strengthen bonds and relations between the specialists and those interested in medical education.
