HRH Prince Mitib bin Abdullah, minister of state, member of the Council of Ministers and commander of the National Guard sponsored the launch of the Saudi Conference for Colleges of Health Sciences: Facing Challenges and Setting Directions” on Sunday 13 March 2011. The conference was organized by King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
The opening ceremony included a speech given by Dr. Mohammad Al Khazim, Chairman of the Organizing Committee in which he pointed out that this conference is the first of its kind and hosted a large number of experts and those interested in all aspects of medicine, health and nursing specialties from around the Kingdom as well as international experts from Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada, USA and South Africa.
The conference’s scientific program included seven specialized training workshops and thirty sessions that discussed scientific papers distributed on eight themes covering by health education from different angles.
In that regard, Dr. Rashid Al Rashid, the Vice President, Postgraduate Education said that “we appreciate the interest and support of our great government” and elaborated on the various achievements of the postgraduate studies in KSAU-HS that reflect the academic, training and educational role that the National Guard Health Affairs plays in adopting the best programs for health education and graduate studies.
Moreover, Dr. Bandar Al Knawy, Chief Executive Officer, National Guard Health Affairs, President, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences said conducting these types of conferences reflect the University’s commitment to being a leader in the field of health education and it represents a platform for experts and interested parties to meet and exchange local and international views and expertise on improving the performance of health and medical colleges of all specialties.
Finally. HRH Prince Mitib bin Abdullah gave a speech in which he complemented KSAU-HS which on being a highly respected specialized medical and educational institutions which has the full support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince. He concluded by saying that this conference represents a new era in specialized conferences that aim to set the perfect environment for academic leaderships in all different health specialties to meet and exchange ideas and experiences.
