
An international medical assembly was launched on Wednesday, the 19 of February 2014 in Riyadh to discuss the latest developments in Liver Diseases and Transplant with the participation of distinct speakers from France, Greece, Spain and the United States in addition to the participation of a number of expert local speakers from different hospitals around the Kingdome.
The symposium was organized by NGHA in collaboration with The Saudi Association for Liver Diseases and Transplant in KSAU-HS Convention Center in Riyadh.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al- Jumah, a consultant, Head of the Hepatobiliary Sciences and Liver Transplant Department and the Organizing Committee added that this symposium aims to promoting the exchange of regional and international expertise as well as reviewing the latest experiments in the field of liver diseases and transplant, in addition to discussing vital topics such as Hepatitis B and C, Autoimmune Hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, fatty liver disease, treating methods of liver cancer, Cirrhosis symptoms, liver transplant, modern ways to utilize organ transplants and Other Chronic Liver Diseases.
The symposium will also present an opportunity to discuss a number of local research conducted in the Kingdom.
It is worth mentioning that the estimates of the World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that approximately 2 billion people worldwide have been infected with hepatitis B and 350 million people are now living with chronic liver disease caused by virus b.
